Restaurant Theme Barbie 

With sofas color pink and tables shaped high heel. Barbie fans in Taiwan were presented with the first theme restaurant of the legendary doll. The company Matel authorized group of restaurants Sinlaku,  Taiwan, to operate the Barbie Cafe, and hopes that the establishment in a bustling commercial district in the capital Taipei help promote Barbie as a fashion brand. 

Taiwan has a long history linked to Barbie and used to be a center of production of the dolls until the end of the 1980s, when Matel decided to relocate their production lines to China to reduce costs.

"We chose Taiwan because themed restaurants are very popular and successful here. We are very confident that the Barbie Cafe can promote our brand image," said Iggy Yip, senior manager of the consumer products division of Matel in Greater China.

 
Aside from dolls, a Matel sells clothes, accessories and furniture in Taiwan, and some selected products will be available at the cafe, she said.

The themed place opened its doors on 30/01/2013 with special decoration and special menus. To celebrate the opening, the chef turned the doll cake and it was distributed to the party guests.
